The CORE LAB in Esplugues, Barcelona, offers several reference analytical profiles, with a catalogue of over 300 reference and routine tests, 600 IgE-mediated allergy tests and 300 specific IgG and IgG4 tests.
Currently one of the analytical lines with the highest production capacities in Spain, with 20 interconnected analytical instruments and 81 linear meters in length, it operates 20 hours a day from Monday to Friday and 12 hours on Saturday, to guarantee turnaround times of less than one day.
What we do?
The CORE LAB includes the automation of the Biochemistry, Immunochemistry (hormones, tumour markers), Drug Monitoring, Serology, Allergy and Coagulation areas.
At the healthcare level, it offers a wide portfolio of tests for a range of diagnostic methodologies and areas:
Routine and reference biochemistry, with various methodologies (spectrometry,
inmunoturbidimetría, electrodo ion selectivo)
Hormones (chemiluminescence)
Tumour markers (chemiluminescence)
Drug monitoring (chemiluminescence)
Screening for drugs of abuse (enzyme immunoassay)

¿What set us apart?
Having an automated sample distribution system gives the laboratory a high analysis capacity that enables it to take on a large volume of tests and to rapidly and efficiently absorb increases in workload. This allows us to react and respond quickly to any contingency or need that might arise.
The laboratory instrumentation is sized so that, in most cases, the tests are duplicated in at least two analysers. This enables us to maintain the service and the established turnaround time in the event of the breakdown or failure of any of the analysers.
The laboratory has medical staff available for 15 hours a day (7:00 a.m. to 10:00 p.m.) for the resolution of incidents and to provide technical and scientific advice, allowing us to offer our customers comprehensive service.
The CORE LAB collaborates and remains in constant contact with the other laboratory departments in order to streamline processes and, with the support and customer service area, to report incidents and share critical results as quickly as possible.
The laboratory operates under high quality standards in order to comply with the requirements of the UNE-EN ISO15189 standard and to be able to guarantee the maximum reliability of the results, as well as their complete traceability.
All this allows us to offer a quality service at the forefront of the latest innovations and technologies.
Accreditations

In addition, the automated multidisciplinary laboratory (A.M.L.) manages the Haematology service (located in the central courtyard of the building) and Urine service using highly productive modular solutions.
